Suspected bombing at Ukrainian church injures nine

KIEV (Reuters) - A suspected bomb blast injured nine people at an Orthodox Christian church in the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhya on Wednesday, an Emergencies Ministry official said.

The blast occurred on the day Ukraine celebrated an anniversary of its conversion to Christianity in 988.

"Nine people were injured, one woman is in a grave condition," said Emergencies Ministry official Yulia Barysheva. "...This was presumably a home-made explosive device."

Barysheva said police were investigating the blast.
